The future does not wait: the digital redesign of payroll has arrived
According to a 2024 survey, 84% of Hungarian companies have already started their digital transformation, and the greatest momentum can be felt in the field of HR processes[1]. The response of PS to this trend turn is not only technological, but strategic: it has created a dedicated Digitalization Transformation department of nearly 20 people, which aims to automate manual processes full of errors with innovative solutions, tailored to customer needs.
One portal, thousands of man-hours saved
One of the most recent achievements of the PS Payroll Portal was that….
…it provided more than 7,500 employees with digital delivery of tax certificates at the beginning of 2025 – thus managing more than 15,000 documents without any paper.
What used to take long days to print, sign and envelop is now available in just a few clicks – faster, cheaper and more environmentally conscious.
The solutions work online, so payroll data can be securely accessed from anywhere, at any time. Tight integration with HR and finance systems enables automatic data flow, which significantly reduces the number of human errors, while also allowing the creation of customized reports, export files and tax authority forms automatically.
Artificial intelligence: automation at the next level and predictive decision support
The potential for AI is being investigated to respond faster to user requests, to reduce HR administrative burdens and to improve the employee experience – as a more personalized, predictable operation is a value and an advantage at all levels. This is very carefully managed from a privacy and cybersecurity standpoint, regardless if it makes AI adaptation more challenging.
PS is trying to respond not only to the needs of the present, but also to the needs of the future. Thanks to their automation tools in business processes, their customers can not only be more efficient, but also more proactive in their business decision-making. The goal: to apply and implement as many as possible, mostly self-driving systems, not only in the accounting but also in the payroll processes, which are able to produce real-time reports and even recommendations for decision-makers, if possible.
“The digitization of payroll is not just a technological advancement – it is a complete change of approach, where the goal is faster, more accurate and even more human-centric operation. We develop solutions that make the lives of our payroll teams, the lives of our clients’ HR professionals, and the lives of all employees easier at the same time,”
said Attila Sólyom, Digital Transformation Director of Process Solutions.
PS‘s payroll developments are already as follows:
- they provide almost complete paperlessness in administration,
- automate document management and reporting (e.g. whether it is management reports or statutory reports),
- through the operation of their online solutions, their customers can access their relevant data and reports at any time, from anywhere,
- reduce the possibility of errors with intelligent workflow support,
- they create personalized BI reports and files (using modern business intelligence tools) even for complex customer needs,
- and all this while using cybersecurity and data protection solutions that meet the highest customer expectations.
Advances in technology are transforming the future of payroll – and it’s not just about large companies. The question of the coming years will not be whether a company will digitize, but how and how quickly it can adapt to the changes. Examples clearly show that reducing administrative burdens, more accurate data and faster decision-making are no longer a promise of the future, but the most important task of the present.
